Meet Illinois Artisans, a Monthly Series at the Chicago Water Works Visitor Center

Presented by the Chicago Office of Tourism and Culture and the Illinois Artisans Program, this unique event takes place the second Friday and Saturday of every month, and is an opportunity to view artmaking demos by Illinois artisans and buy their wares.

Thaddeus Kosciuszko Statue

Thaddeus Kosciuszko was a Polish soldier who aided the Americans in the Revolutionary War. His strategies played a pivotal role in the important victory at the Battle of Saratoga, a turning point in the war. He is honored in Chicago by this monument along the Lakefront, and a park named after him at 2732 N. Avers Ave.
